ISTANBUL (AA) - Houston Dynamo defeated Inter Miami 2-1 on Thursday to win their second US Open Cup title.
Griffin Dorsey and Amine Bassi produced a goal each in the 24th and 33rd minutes, while Josef Martinez scored in the stoppage time at the DRV PNK stadium in Florida.
Lionel Messi, who was substituted against Toronto FC last week did not play for Inter Miami in the final because of a lingering muscle injury.
Messi produced 11 goals and five assists for the Major League Soccer season.
The regular Major League Soccer (MLS) season will conclude on Oct. 21, with the playoff clashes taking place from Oct. 25 to Dec. 9.
