ISTANBUL (AA) - The Houston Rockets confirmed Wednesday that they had exercised team options on several of their young players.
"The Rockets today announced they have exercised their fourth-year options for guard Jalen Green and center Alperen Sengun in addition to the third-year options for forwards Tari Eason and Jabari Smith Jr," the team said in a statement.
Turkish-born Sengun, 21, is one of 16 players in NBA history to have racked up at least 1,800 points, 1,000 rebounds, 450 assists, 100 steals, and 100 blocks in the first two seasons of a career.
In three matches this season, the guard averaged 19.3 points, 9 rebounds and 6.7 assists.
Green, 21, became the fifth player to rack up at least 1,000 points and 200 free throw attempts as a rookie and then to increase their totals by 500 points and 200 FTA in their second season.
The Houston Rockets shooting guard averaged 17.7 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game this season.
Sengun and Green were both selected during the 2021 NBA Draft.
