ISTANBUL (AA) - The Yemeni Houthi group on Monday released footage of its hypersonic missile attack that hit central Israel on Sunday.
Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV published a video of the launch operation of a hypersonic missile, named Palestine 2, adding that it has a range up to 2,150 kilometers (1,3336 miles), works with solid fuel, and can evade air defense systems, including Israel's Iron Dome air defense platform.
The channel said the missile was fired on Sunday towards central Israel, whose defenses failed to intercept it.
The Houthi group claimed responsibility for the attack on Sunday, stating that they targeted a military site in the central Israeli city of Jaffa using the hypersonic ballistic missile.
The Houthi-launched missile targeted central Israel, leading nine people to suffer injuries while rushing to shelters. Fires broke out and a large cement factory also caught fire, likely due to debris from the interceptors, media reports said.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the Houthi group of severe retaliation, vowing that he would “exact a heavy price” on them.
