SANAA, Yemen (AA) - US and British warplanes launched on Saturday an airstrike in Kamaran Island in Al-Hudaydah province, the Houthi group said.
“American and British aggression aircraft launched an airstrike on Kamaran Island,” the Houthi-run Al-Masirah television reported.
No information was immediately available about casualties or the extent of damage.
Kamaran is the largest island off Yemen's coast, administratively belonging to the coastal province of Al-Hudaydah.
In solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis target shipping vessels in the Red Sea owned or operated by Israeli companies, or transporting goods to and from Israel, which has killed 38,000 people in the besieged enclave since Oct. 7, 2023.
Since January, a coalition led by the US has conducted airstrikes in various parts of Yemen, targeting what they claim to be Houthi sites in response to their attacks in the Red Sea.
