LONDON (AA) - The Hungarian prime minister on Thursday underlined the need for a cease-fire and peace talks due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, saying "the sooner the better."

"Russia cannot win because the entire western world has lined up behind. At the same time, Russia is a nuclear power, and a nuclear power cannot be cornered because they may trigger a nuclear war," Viktor Orban wrote on Twitter.

He said "the sooner the better" for possible peace talks over the war in Ukraine.

Russia launched its war on Ukraine on Feb. 24 last year.
