ANKARA (AA) - American actress and comedian Betty White, best known for her role in the 1985 sitcom The Golden Girls, died earlier on Friday at the age 99.
White was set to celebrate her centennial year on Jan. 17, 2022, as her agent Jeff Witjas told the People magazine in a statement that: "Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever."
Though Witjas confirmed that the famous actress had died, he did not provide the cause and place of her death.
"I don't think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again," her agent added.
The comedic actress was born in 1922, in Oak Park, Illinois. Her television career began in the late 1930s, according to the website Biography.com.
