GREATER NOIDA, India (AA) - India has been playing a significant role in many products globally from food to medicine and spices, but has deficiencies when it comes to their marketing and sales, said Ajar Srivastava, the founder of Global Trade Research Initiative, a think tank.

There are challenges to allocate budget for digital technologies and marketing, Srivastava told a session at the UP International Trade Show, a 5-day event underway in the northern city of Greater Noida.

While the country has advanced well in terms of manufacturing, the industry doubts while spending money in marketing activities, he said.

He said the trade fair is impressive and people can find some brands which can match the quality of the European market.

The first UP International Trade Show in India's most populated state of Uttar Pradesh began on Thursday, hosting more than 2,000 exhibitors. The sectors in focus include food and agriculture, automotive, technology, and tourism.
