ISTANBUL (AA) - The first-time finalist Qatar will face four-time champion Japan in the 2019 Asian Cup final on Friday.
The game will start at 1400GMT at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
After advancing to the 2019 Asian Cup final for the first time, Qatar will chase yet another milestone achievement in the final game against Japan.
Qatar has become the first ever team that did not concede a goal in the first six games of Asia Cup with a goal difference of 16-0. The final will be their seventh game in the tournament.
The tournament's top scorer Qatari forward Almoez Ali scored 8 goals while Japan's top scorer Yuya Osako scored 4 goals in the 2019 Asian Cup before the final.
Qatar on Tuesday beat the host United Arab Emirates (UAE) 4-0, advancing to the final for the first time.
The World Cup 2022 hosts had advanced to the semifinals for the first time by beating two-time champion South Korea.
On Monday, four-time champion Japan defeated three-time champion Iran 3-0 to reach the final.
Japan is the most successful team in the Asian Cup with four titles, followed by Iran and Saudi Arabia with three apiece.
The 2019 AFC Asian Cup is the men's football championship of Asia organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
The 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup had kicked off in the UAE on Jan. 5.
