ANKARA (AA) – Second in the Italian Serie A standings, Inter Milan missed many chances as they were held to a 0-0 draw with Sampdoria on Monday.
Before the kickoff at Genoa's Luigi Ferraris Stadium, a minute's silence was observed to honor the earthquake victims in Türkiye and Syria.
During the warm-up, Inter's Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu appeared with a "Pray for Türkiye" t-shirt on him.
"Painful days. Thanks to our fans for standing with us," Calhanoglu tweeted after the match.
After 22 games, Inter have 44 points to be 15 points behind leaders Napoli.
Atalanta, Roma and AC Milan all have 41 points to chase Inter in the Serie A standings.
Sampdoria have 11 points to be in the relegation zone.
