ISTANBUL (AA) - A new exhibition, Interactions, that focuses on “artists’ world of inspirations” will be on view at Istanbul Modern until Sept. 30, according to organizers on Tuesday.
The display is “a selection from its collection, showcases works that were inspired by or refer to various subjects and individuals from the fields of plastic arts, architecture, literature, music, and cinema,” Istanbul Modern, a museum of modern and contemporary art, said in a statement.
Fourteen artists with 15 works, including artwork that will be seen by an audience for the first time, are in the exhibition, it said.
The display features works by Haluk Akakce, Ramazan Bayrakoglu, Ipek Duben, Inci Eviner, Leyla Gediz, Hayal Incedogan, Bengu Karaduman, Azade Koker, Guillermo Kuitca, Mahmoud Obaidi, Sener Ozmen, Sarkis, Matt Saunders and Thomas Ruff.
The exhibition reflects the inspirations, interests and curiosity of the artists and points out the references between different disciplines of art, said the statement.
The display “explores the sources of inspiration that shape the productions of the artists, while also contemplating the thought processes and inquiries with which artists begin their work,” it added.
