WARSAW (AA) - The Turkish Embassy in the Polish capital hosted an international conference Thursday that highlighted the last century of ties between the two countries.
Turkish Ambassador to Poland, Rauf Alp Denktas, praised ties with Poland at The Last Century in Turkish-Polish Relations and noted that both countries are not only friendly but also allied countries.
Charge d’Affaires Cagdas Bilgin noted that 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship between Türkiye and Poland which was signed in 1923 as well as the centennial of the Republic of Türkiye.
"Türkiye and Poland share an exceptional bond of friendship going back many centuries, during which they have maintained strong political ties, as well as close commercial, military and cultural links," he said.
He said political relations "are at an excellent level" and economic cooperation will certainly continue to be one of the driving forces in relations.
Turkish and Polish academics were also among the attendees.
