ERBIL (AA) – Iran cannot dare attack states that have technology and weapon power, a spokesperson for Iraq's Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) said on Monday.
In a statement regarding a missile attack by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Erbil, northern Iraq, Peshwa Taher Horami said Iran was putting up excuses but the attack cannot be covered up with propaganda.
“They hit the so-called Mossad base in Erbil with their missiles, and they claim that the attack is not a violation of the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.”
Horami noted that everyone witnessed that the missile attack was a crime committed against women and children.
“Nevertheless, it is surprising that Iranian officials insist on baseless propaganda and boast about this crime committed against the innocent people of the Kurdistan Region,” he said.
He stressed that the crime would not be covered up with any false propaganda, fake news, or photoshopped images, and Iran could not deceive Iraq and the people of the region.
On Jan. 16, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had fired a barrage of ballistic missiles at positions of "terrorist groups" in Syria and Iraq.
The IRGC claimed to have "destroyed" an Israeli spy agency Mossad's headquarters in the Erbil region.
