A total of 11 civilians were killed on Friday in an attack carried out by Iranian-backed groups allied with the Bashar al-Assad regime in the Deir ez-Zor province of eastern Syria.
According to local sources, the Iran-backed groups stationed in the Muhsan district of Deir ez-Zor used ground-to-ground weapons to strike the village, killing 11 civilians, including six children and four women, and injuring five others.
The Iran-backed groups later targeted a funeral ceremony held for the victims of the attack, but no casualties were reported.
Conflicts occasionally occur between the Iran-backed groups stationed west of the Euphrates River and PKK/YPG terrorists occupying the eastern side of the river.
