MOSCOW (AA) - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani held three separate meetings Thursday with his Russian counterparts in Moscow.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said Mikhail Bogdanov and Kani discussed the "unprecedented escalation" in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The diplomats spoke in favor of a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and providing humanitarian assistance to the affected Palestinian population and reiterated their stance to continue efforts aimed at de-escalation.
Sergey Ryabkov and Kani spoke about the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal.
And Kani and Mikhail Galuzin addressed the situation in the South Caucasus, Central Asia and Ukraine.
Both officials stressed the importance of the implementation of agreements on stabilization of the situation in the Caucasus, taking into account results achieved at a ministerial meeting of the 3+3 format, created to promote a joint work of the three Caucasian states -- Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, and their neighbors -- Russia, Iran and Türkiye.
