RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – The Israeli army on Thursday detained 30 more Palestinians in military raids carried out across the occupied West Bank, according to prisoners’ affairs groups.
The arrests took place in the cities of Ramallah, Tulkarm, Tubas, Nablus, Jenin, Hebron, and Bethlehem, the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a joint statement.
The new arrests brought the number of Palestinians detained by Israeli forces in the West Bank to 5,630 since Oct 7.
The figure does not include Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.
Tensions have been high across the occupied territory amid ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which left at least 22,313 people dead since a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 325 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli army fire in the West Bank since then, according to the Health Ministry.
