RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Israeli forces detained 65 more Palestinians in military raids in the occupied West Bank, a local NGO said Wednesday.
In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said two women and two journalists were among the detainees.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank since Oct. 7 amid the Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip.
At least 163 Palestinians have been killed and more than 2,280 others arrested by the Israeli army in the occupied territory since last month, according to Palestinian figures.
Prior to the Gaza conflict, the number of Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails was estimated at around 5,200, according to prisoners’ affairs groups.
