BEIRUT (AA) – Israel has no option but to halt its offensive on the Gaza Strip to end cross-border attacks from Lebanon, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said on Monday.
"There is no option for the [Israeli] enemy to stop [attacks] from the northern front but to end the war on Gaza," Nasrallah said in a televised speech.
He said Hezbollah seeks to pile pressure on Israel to end its onslaught on the Gaza Strip.
Tensions have risen along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv presses ahead with its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 35,100 people since last October following a Hamas attack.
At least 292 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in clashes with Israeli forces since Oct. 8, 2023, according to an Anadolu tally based on statements released by the group.
At least 23 Israelis, including 14 soldiers, have also been killed in cross-border attacks by Hezbollah, according to Israeli media.
