JERUSALEM (AA) – The Israeli army issued new evacuation orders on Thursday for three villages in southern Lebanon ahead of airstrikes.

Military spokesman Avichay Adraee demanded that residents of Burj el-Shemali, al-Housh, and Maashouq leave the area immediately and head north of the Awali River.

The army warned that it will “act forcefully” against Hezbollah assets and facilities in the targeted areas.

The Israeli army issued several evacuation orders for residents in several villages and towns across Lebanon ahead of staging attacks.

Israel has engaged in cross-border warfare with Lebanon, launching an air campaign in late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets.

More than 3,500 people have been killed by Israeli attacks in Lebanon, with nearly 15,000 injured and more than 1 million displaced since last October, according to Lebanese health authorities.

Tel Aviv expanded the conflict by launching a ground assault into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
