JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army said late Monday that its forces killed a Palestinian in the West Bank who was on his way to carry out “a large terror attack” in Tel Aviv.
The army said in a statement that its forces in cooperation with an elite force from Israel’s internal security service Shin Bet known as the Duvdevan unit killed Muhammad Jaber in the town of Zeita, located north of Tulkarem in the northern West Bank.
The army said that Jaber was "en route to Israeli territory to carry out a suicide attack in the immediate time-frame," adding Israeli forces found firearms and an explosive device in his possession.
Tensions have been high across the West Bank since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on Oct. 7.
Since then, more than 425 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank and over 4,500 others injured, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
