JERUSALEM (AA) – A record single-day spike took Israel’s total coronavirus cases past 120,000 on Thursday.
The Health Ministry said 3,073 infections were detected over the past 24 hours, the highest daily tally in Israel since the start of the outbreak.
Over the past three months, the average daily figure in the country has remained between 1,500 to 2,000.
The total number of COVID-19 cases now stand at 122,539, including 969 deaths and 97,872 recoveries, according to the ministry.
At least 418 of the patients are in critical condition, it said.
Coronavirus infections have been on the rise in Israel since June, despite several containment measures taken by the government.
