JERUSALEM (AA) - Israeli authorities have ordered residents in several areas of Upper Galilee in northern Israel to remain indoors following suspicions that armed fighters may have infiltrated the region from Lebanon, state media reported on Friday.
Residents of several communities in the Upper Galilee, including Rehaniya, were told to stay inside their homes until further notice after receiving warnings of a possible infiltration of armed individuals.
Air raid sirens were sounded on Friday in the city of Acre, Kiryat region near Haifa, and in the settlement of Kiryat Shmona and its surrounding areas, following the launch of dozens of rockets from Lebanon.
Tensions remain high in the region as Israel continues its air and ground attacks into Lebanon, while also conducting strikes in Gaza.
