JERUSALEM (AA) - Israel on Tuesday threatened Egypt that it would bomb any aid convoy heading to the Gaza Strip amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Palestinian territory.
The warning was conveyed to Egypt, Israeli Channel 13 reported without further details.
Egyptian authorities have so far made no comment on Israel's threat.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israel pounded the Gaza Strip for the third day in a row, following a multi-front Hamas attack on Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip that involved dozens of fighters and heavy rocket fire.
Since Saturday, more than 1,800 people have been killed in the ongoing clashes, including 1,000 Israelis and nearly 800 Palestinians.
Israeli army spokesman Richard Hecht earlier advised Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to leave for Egypt amid heavy bombardment in Gaza, before revising the recommendation.
Israel has declared a “state of war” following the Hamas attack and imposed a total blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to use all of Israel’s strength to destroy Hamas’ capabilities and “take revenge for this black day.”
