GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Several Palestinians were killed and others injured on Monday in Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple areas in the Gaza Strip.
The attacks occurred amid ongoing clashes between armed Palestinian factions and the Israeli army.
According to medical sources cited by Anadolu, a number of Palestinians were killed in the Israeli bombardment across the region. In one incident, three Palestinians lost their lives, and several others were wounded when Israeli forces struck a group of civilians in Mansoura Street in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City.
The Israeli artillery also targeted several locations in the Sabra neighborhood south of Gaza City. Additionally, Israeli warplanes fired missiles north of Gaza City in the Zahra district, as reported by eyewitnesses.
In central Gaza, five Palestinians, including three children, were killed and others sustained varying injuries during an Israeli airstrike on a residential apartment in the Maghazi refugee camp.
Medical sources confirmed that five fatalities, including three children, and other injuries occurred among innocent civilians due to the Israeli airstrikes targeting a house belonging to the Manaama family while they were asleep. The casualties were transported to Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
In the town of Al Zawayda, the Israeli army targeted a group of civilians near the Abu Salah Well area, resulting in casualties, including one death.
The Israeli artillery also struck targets in the central al-Mughraqa neighborhood, although the specific objectives remain unidentified.
Further south, Israeli fighter jets bombed a residential apartment near the Ismail Abu Shanab Mosque, located in the vicinity of the Al-Awda Schools in Abasan Al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis. Witnesses reported no immediate injuries.
According to field sources, Israeli helicopters fired on areas west of the city of Rafah.
These airstrikes coincide with continued clashes in various sectors where Israeli forces have penetrated different parts of the Gaza Strip.
On Sunday evening, Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced the firing of short-range rockets at Israeli forces operating near the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood and their command center in the Natsarim axis, south of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, Saraya Al-Quds stated that its fighters bombarded Israeli soldiers who had infiltrated the vicinity of the airport in eastern Rafah with a barrage of mortar shells.
Flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7 attack by Hamas.
Nearly 38,600 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, and nearly 89,000 injured, according to local health authorities.
Over nine months into the Israeli onslaught, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
