BEIRUT (AA) – Two people were killed and three others injured in Israeli airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to Lebanese media.
The state news agency NNA said two people lost their lives when Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes in Yohmor town in western Bekaa.
Three more people were injured in another strike in the town of Qellaya, the broadcaster said.
In southern Lebanon, Israeli tanks advanced into El-Hamames hill and the eastern outskirts of Khiam town, NNA said.
Israeli warplanes also mounted airstrikes in several areas in southern Lebanon, the news agency said, without giving an exact figure of casualties from the attacks.
Israel has launched a massive air campaign in Lebanon since last month against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in an escalation from a year of cross-border warfare between Israel and the group since the start of Israel’s brutal offensive on Gaza.
Over 2,700 people have been killed and nearly 12,500 injured in Israeli attacks since October last year, according to Lebanese health authorities.
Israel expanded the conflict on Oct. 1 this year by launching an incursion into southern Lebanon.
