JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army on Wednesday announced that it had attacked air defense facilities and ammunition for the Hezbollah group in overnight raids on southern Lebanon.
In a statement, the Israeli army said it struck two Hezbollah air defense facilities located in the village of Janta and in the Baraachit area.
In a separate statement, the army said its fighter jets also struck a weapons depot for the group in the village of Kafr Kila.
The Israeli army posted scenes of what it said were the strikes on the Hezbollah targets.
On Tuesday evening, Israeli media reported that two Israelis were killed in a rocket attack from Lebanon on the occupied Golan Heights, which belong to Syria.
Hezbollah earlier said it struck the command center of the Israeli army's Golan Division 210 with a barrage of Katyusha rockets.
Hezbollah said the attack came in response to the Israeli army's assault on the Beirut-Damascus highway and the killing of a senior Hezbollah figure, identified as Hajj Abou Al-Fadl Qarnabsh, who also served as one of the security escorts of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
His death brought to 366 the number of Hezbollah fighters killed in clashes with Israeli forces since Oct. 8, just after the start of Israel's offensive on Gaza, according to an Anadolu tally.
Tensions have risen along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv presses ahead with its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed over 38,000 people since last October following a Hamas attack.
