JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army claimed Saturday it intercepted two drones launched from southern Lebanon toward the western Galilee region.

Army Radio reported via X that forces “intercepted two drones launched from southern Lebanon targeting the western Galilee.”

It noted that sirens were sounded because of the interception of the drones.

It did not, however, specify if there were injuries or property damage from the incident.

The Lebanese resistance group, Hezbollah, and Israel have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the start of Israel's onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 41,600 victims, mostly women and children, following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas last Oct. 7.

The international community has warned against the strikes on Lebanon, as they raise the specter of turning the Gaza conflict into a regional war.
