RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – The Israeli army on Friday detained at least 90 Palestinians from different areas across the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, a nongovernmental organization said.

In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said the new arrests, including a Palestinian woman, brought the total number of Palestinians detained by the Israeli forces since Oct. 7 to nearly 2,400.

Before the recent Israel-Palestine fighting erupted a month ago, the number of Palestinians detained in Israeli jails was around 5,200, including more than 1,000 held under the notorious administrative detention policy with no charge or trial.

The NGO accused the Israeli army of executing 17-year-old minor Mohammad Azba following his arrest.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its medical teams received a body of a Palestinian who was arrested injured before being announced dead later.

Tensions have been high across the West Bank since the fighting broke out on Oct. 7 between Palestinian groups and Israel in Gaza.

At least 183 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli forces in the West Bank since Oct. 7 and more than 2,200 others injured, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
