GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The Israeli army killed three Palestinians in an airstrike on Friday night, targeting their tent in an area designated by Israel as a "safe humanitarian zone" in the southern Gaza Strip.
A medical source told Anadolu that seven others were injured in the Israeli airstrike on a tent for displaced people in Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis.
Despite being designated as a "humanitarian safe zone" by the Israeli army, Al-Mawasi has witnessed dozens of deadly Israeli airstrikes in the course of the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
The Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling never stop over the clock across the Gaza Strip, claiming more lives of Palestinians.
Israel has continued a devastating offensive on Gaza since October last year despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
More than 43,500 people have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 102,700 others injured, according to local health authorities.
Mediation efforts led by the US, Egypt, and Qatar to reach a Gaza cease-fire and prisoner swap agreement between Israel and Hamas have failed over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to halt the war.
Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on Gaza.
