RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - The Palestinian Health Ministry announced Thursday the killing of a Palestinian by Israeli army gunfire in Tamoun in the northern West Bank.

The ministry said in a statement that Asid Jawad Matar Bani Odeh, 29, was killed after being shot in the chest by the Israeli military.

Witnesses told Anadolu that the army invaded Tamoun near Tubas, initiating a search and raid operation in homes, leading to clashes with dozens of Palestinians.

They mentioned that live ammunition was used to disperse the Palestinians.

With the killing of Bani Odeh, the number of Palestinian casualties in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, rose to 325, according to the Ministry of Health data.

Since Oct. 7, Israeli attacks in the West Bank have escalated simultaneously with the devastating war against Gaza, which has left as of Wednesday a total of 22,313 Palestinians dead and 57,296 injured, mostly children and women.

The conflict has also caused extensive infrastructure damage and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, according to authorities in the Gaza Strip and the UN.
