Israeli army kills unarmed Palestinian teen in Jenin hospital: Medical charity MSF

MSF accuses Israeli forces of blocking ambulances, humiliating, harassing medical staff

ANKARA (AA) – Medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on Thursday accused the Israeli army of killing an unarmed Palestinian teen inside a hospital in the West Bank city of Jenin.

At least 12 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli military raid into the Jenin refugee camp since Tuesday, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

“Israeli forces just shot and killed an unarmed teenage boy inside Khalil Suleiman hospital compound. Efforts to save his life from MSF and Ministry of Health doctors were in vain,” the charity said in a statement.

MSF said Israeli forces fired live bullets and tear gas at the hospital, blocked ambulances, and humiliated and harassed medical staff since Oct. 7.

“This morning, Israeli forces stopped ambulances taking discharged patients home outside Khalil Suleiman Hospital. Paramedics and ambulance drivers were ordered out of the ambulances, stripped and made to kneel in the street. The patients were left in the ambulances. All of this happened in full view of our team,” the charity said.

"Hospitals are supposed to be safe spaces. Hospitals must be respected. These attacks must stop."

Tensions have been running high across the West Bank amid an Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.

At least 289 Palestinians have been killed and 3,100 others injured by Israeli fire in the West Bank since then, according to the Health Ministry.
