RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - An Israeli military force conducted raids in several neighborhoods in the city of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank on Thursday.
An Anadolu correspondent quoted eyewitnesses as saying that “a force of about 30 military vehicles invaded several neighborhoods in the city of Ramallah.”
Witnesses said that the Israeli forces were “raiding homes and stores” without providing further details as of 1700 GMT. They also reported that the Israeli forces used tear gas grenades during the operation, leading to several citizens experiencing suffocation.
They added that the army began "confiscating surveillance camera recordings from several stores."
The incident occurred amid an ongoing escalation by the Israeli army, marked by raids and arrests impacting residents of towns and cities in the West Bank. This escalation is part of a broader conflict, with Israel conducting a destructive campaign against the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7.
