JERUSALEM (AA) - An Israeli army reservist succumbed to injuries sustained on June 30 in the occupied Golan Heights in northern Israel, the military said Thursday.

The reservist, 25, died from injuries sustained when he was hit by a drone in the Golan Heights, said the army in a statement.

On June 30, some 16 Israeli soldiers were injured in the northern occupied Golan Heights due to the explosion of a drone launched from southern Lebanon.

According to the Israeli army data as of Wednesday, the number of its injured soldiers reached 4,149, while the officially announced death toll stands at 682 since the Israeli offensive started on Oct. 7.

Fears have grown about a full-fledged war between Israel and the Lebanese resistance and political group amid an exchange of almost daily attacks. The escalation comes against the backdrop of a deadly Israeli onslaught against Gaza, which has killed more than 38,800 victims since October, following an attack by the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas.
