JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army reported that eight soldiers were injured in southern Lebanon clashes during the past 24 hours, according to updated figures released on Friday.
The military’s data showed that total injuries among Israeli soldiers in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon have risen to 5,414 since the start of the war on Oct. 7, 2023.
Of the total injuries, 2,448 soldiers were wounded during ground operations in Gaza, a number unchanged since Thursday.
The exact locations of the latest injuries were not specified, but the military’s data highlighted incidents in southern Lebanon.
Since the war began, 804 Israeli soldiers have been killed, including 378 in ground operations in Gaza, which started on Oct. 27, 2023.
These figures account for military casualties in Gaza, the West Bank, inside Israel, and southern Lebanon. The data does not include civilian casualties or those from the police and internal security services, such as the Shin Bet.
Israel has engaged in cross-border warfare with Lebanon, launching an air campaign in late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets.
Nearly 3,600 people have been killed by Israeli attacks in Lebanon, with more than 5,000 injured and over 1 million displaced since last October, according to Lebanese health authorities.
Tel Aviv on Oct. 1 expanded the conflict by launching a ground assault into southern Lebanon.
