JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army announced on Friday the death of a soldier and three others seriously wounded during ongoing ground battles in the Gaza Strip, bringing the total death toll since Oct. 7 to 530.
The Israeli army said: “Sergeant Uri Gerbi, 20, from the Givati Brigade was killed as a result of serious injuries sustained in battle in the southern part of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.”
It added: “3 soldiers were seriously injured in battle in the central and northern parts of the Strip.”
The army did not provide any additional details of the battles that led to the death of Gerbi or the injuries of the three soldiers.
The Israeli army's website noted the number of its soldiers killed since the beginning of the war against the Gaza Strip last Oct. 7 has risen to 530, including 194 in the ground battles that started on Oct. 27.
