JERUSALEM (AA) - Rocket sirens were activated in southern areas of Israel, including the coastal city of Ashdod as a barrage of rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said Friday.
It said it detected 10 projectiles fired from Gaza whereas five were intercepted while the remaining landed in open areas.
The army said it struck more than 200 targets in different areas across the Gaza Strip by aerial raids.
It added that the navy and artillery also struck targets in Gaza, but did not elaborate.
The Israeli army resumed attacks across the Gaza Strip early Friday after the end of a humanitarian pause, causing hundreds of causalities among the Palestinians.
At least 109 Palestinians were killed and many others injured as Israel resumed striking various areas in the Gaza Strip following the end of the pause, said the Health Ministry in Gaza.
The pause between Israel and Hamas went into effect Nov. 24.
