JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army said early Wednesday that it has launched a military operation in “a certain part” of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.
Its announcement comes after the Ministry of Health in Gaza said the army officially informed the administration of the medical complex that it would storm it tonight.
“At this hour, IDF forces are working against the Hamas organization in a certain part of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, as this operation is based on intelligence information and an operational need,” Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said on X.
"The operation was preceded by efforts to evacuate the hospital of patients and displaced people, which also included opening a special transportation corridor from inside it," he said.
"The hospital administration was also informed in advance that entry to the complex had been stopped."
