The Israeli army on Friday claimed recovering the bodies of three hostages from the Jabalia area in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the army said the bodies of Hanan Yablonka, Michel Nissenbaum, and Orion Hernandez were recovered Thursday night from the Jabalia neighborhood in the northern Gaza Strip in a joint operation by the Israeli forces and Shin Bet.

The army alleged that the hostages died on Oct. 7, 2023.

There was no comment from Hamas on the Israeli claims.

Last week, the Israeli army claimed to have retrieved the bodies of four Israelis held in Gaza since the attack on Oct. 7.

Israel has launched a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip since the Oct. 7, 2023 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas that killed nearly 1,200 people.

At least 35,800 Palestinians have been killed, the vast majority of whom have been women and children, and 80,200 others injured since last October following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.

More than seven months into the Israeli war, vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered it to ensure that its forces do not commit acts of genocide and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
