The Israeli army said on Saturday it found the body of a settler teen who had gone missing the previous day.

“The body of 14-year-old Binyamin Achimair was located in the area of Malachei HaShalom a short while ago,” the army said in a statement.

“Security forces continue the pursuit after those suspected of his murder,” the statement said, without providing any further details.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “the terrible murder of Binyamin Achimair is a serious crime.”

He vowed that the army forces would launch a "large-scale pursuit of the killers and their accomplices."

Tensions have been running high across the West Bank since Israel's military offensive on the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
