BEIRUT (AA) - An Israeli airstrike on Monday targeted a home in southern Lebanon while a funeral procession for a Hezbollah fighter was taking place.
According to the official Lebanese National News (NNA), the Israeli missile fell just 40 meters from the funeral procession in the southern town of Aita al-Shaab.
The agency added that the Israeli missile hit the roof of a building close to the funeral procession, but no injuries were reported.
It also reported other Israeli bombings in the towns of Aitaroun, Yaroun and Blida.
The Israeli army and Hezbollah over the day exchanged fire on the border areas between them.
Tension has flared along the Lebanese-Israeli border amid intermittent exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Israeli forces in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension comes amid an Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
