BEIRUT (AA) - At least 55 people were killed Monday in Israeli attacks on Lebanon, bringing the death toll since last October to 3,823, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Tuesday.

It added that 160 people were wounded in the last 24 hours, raising the number of injuries to 15,859.

In recent hours, Israeli airstrikes on the Lebanese capital Beirut and its southern suburbs, as well as the southern and eastern provinces of the country, have intensified, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.

On Tuesday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu listed what he considered to be reasons for agreeing to a cease-fire agreement, noting that he would present the agreement to the Cabinet that night for consideration and approval.

Israel has launched a massive air campaign in Lebanon since late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets, in an escalation of a year-long cross-border warfare with the Lebanese group since the start of the Gaza war.

Israel expanded the conflict by launching an incursion into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
