JERUSALEM (AA) - An Israeli court on Thursday extended the detention of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh’s sister for 12 days, according to Israeli media.

Sabah Abdel Salam, 57, was detained from his home in Israel’s southern city of Beersheva on Monday on accusations of incitement and alleged links with Hamas.

“The court extended her detention for 12 days as the judge found that the suspicion against her had increased significantly,” Israeli public broadcaster KAN said.

According to the media outlet, Haniyeh’s sister is suspected of contacting a foreign agent, without providing any further details.

There was no comment from Hamas on the report.
