GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - An Israeli drone strike targeted a home in eastern Gaza City late Monday, killing at least four Palestinians.

A medical source at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital told Anadolu that four Palestinians were killed and six others injured in the strike in Gaza's Old City area.

Witnesses told Anadolu that the apartment was completely destroyed, while other apartments in the building sustained heavy damage.

Earlier on Monday, at least 12 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, including a mother, husband and two children who were killed when warplanes struck a house in the city of Deir al-Balah, a medical source said.

Israel has continued its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7 last year, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.

Nearly 41,600 people have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 96,200 others injured, according to local health authorities.

The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the entire population of the territory amid an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
