GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – Israeli armored vehicles are pushing deep into northern and central Gaza, the Interior Ministry in the blockaded enclave said Tuesday.
“Israeli military vehicles are being seen on the Salahuddin Highway trying to move west,” ministry spokesman Iyad al-Buzm told Anadolu, referring to a road extending the entire length of the Gaza Strip.
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli forces moved through the highway and towards the west.
“Israeli forces also entered the strip from northwestern Gaza,” al-Buzm said. “Armored vehicles can now be seen in the al-Karam district north of Gaza City,” he added.
Since last weekend, the Israeli army has expanded its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless airstrikes since the surprise offensive by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7.
More than 10,000 people have been killed in the Gaza conflict, including 8,525 Palestinians and more than 1,538 Israelis.
