JERUSALEM, (AA) – An Israeli was injured by rocket fire from the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to the country’s ambulance service.
The Magen David Adom service said a 45-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds from a rocket attack in the city of Holon near Tel Aviv.
The Israeli army said it detected the launch of 10 rockets from Gaza towards central Israel with one of the rockets landing in Holon city.
The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian group Hamas, earlier said that it had fired a barrage of rockets towards Tel Aviv.
Israel resumed its military offensive on the Gaza Strip on Dec. 1 after the end of a weeklong humanitarian pause with Hamas.
Nearly 18,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 49,229 others injured in relentless air and ground attacks on the enclave since Oct. 7 following a cross-border attack by Hamas, according to Gaza’s health authorities.
The Israeli death toll in the Hamas attack stood at 1,200, according to official figures.
