ISTANBUL (AA) — Israel's actions against civilians in Lebanon are "unimaginable" and are pushing the situation to a "tipping point," Turkish parliament speaker Numan Kurtulmus told Russian lawmakers on Wednesday.

Addressing the Federation Council, Russia's upper legislative chamber, during an official visit to Moscow, Kurtulmus warned that these actions further worsen Israel's record of crimes in the region.

On bilateral relations, the Turkish official called for improved ties between Ankara and Moscow to foster "peace, unity, solidarity and development" in the region.

Kurtulmus also expressed hope for the swift re-establishment of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.

The speaker of Türkiye's parliament traveled to Russia on Monday for an official four-day visit at the invitation of the head of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.
