AFYONKARAHISAR, Turkey (AA) - Dutch racer Jeffrey Herlings won a close first race at the Motocross World Championship in Afyon, Turkey on Wednesday.
He crossed the line in 34:31.387, just edging out Italy’s Antonio Cairoli, who finished with a time of 34:31.881.
Slovenia’s Tim Gajser came in third with a finish of 34:34.356.
With the second race of the Afyon leg to be held later on Wednesday, Gajser is top of the championship table with 330 points, while Herlings is fourth with 299 points.
