AMMAN (AA) – A Jordanian Charity Organization said on Thursday that the total aid from the Kingdom to the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli war amounted to 89 trucks and 28 planes.

This came during statements by the Secretary-General of Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, Hussein Al-Shibli, to Anadolu, following the announcement by the World Food Program on Wednesday that it was bringing in ground aid from Jordan through the Karm Abu Salem crossing to the Gaza Strip.

The World Food Program had announced the delivery of the first convoy of direct aid from Jordan to the Gaza Strip through the Karam Abu Salem crossing, including 46 trucks carrying 750 tons of lifesaving food assistance.

Al-Shibli said to Anadolu, “since the start of the Israeli aggression on Oct. 7, we have sent 89 trucks and 28 planes containing relief and medical aid to our brothers in the Gaza Strip.”

He pointed out that “22 planes were sent specifically by the organization, and six in collaboration with international relief organizations,” explaining that “the volume of this aid reached 1,628 tons by Thursday evening.”

Al-Shibli clarified that “the Jordanian army managed to carry out 6 airdrops to our hospitals inside the strip.”

He affirmed, “this is our duty towards our brothers, and we will continue to provide what is necessary under the direct instructions of King Abdullah II.”

The Jordanian army had previously conducted five airdrops of aid to its first field hospital in Gaza, the latest of which was last Thursday, in which Princess Salma, the daughter of King Abdullah II, participated. This was before conducting a sixth airdrop to its second field hospital yesterday, south of the Gaza Strip.

Since Oct. 7, the Israeli army has been waging a destructive war on Gaza, resulting in, as of Wednesday, 20,000 Palestinian deaths and 52,600 injuries, most of whom are children and women, along with massive infrastructure destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to the authorities in the Strip and the UN.
