AMMAN (AA) - The Jordanian army announced Wednesday it downed a drug-carrying drone from Syria.
An attempt to smuggle drugs across the Syrian border has been thwarted, it said in a statement.
It added that the drone, sent from Syrian territory, was downed in Jordan's Northern Military Zone.
Jordan has been combating drug and weapon smuggling in recent years, particularly from Iraq and Syria.
