ANKARA (AA) - English midfielder Jordan Henderson has renewed his contract with Liverpool, the Premier League side confirmed on Tuesday.
"Jordan Henderson has signed a new contract with Liverpool Football Club to commit his long-term future to the Reds," Liverpool said. "The captain put pen to paper on the deal at the AXA Training Centre ... ensuring his 10-year spell with the club will be prolonged into the years to come."
Henderson said he is "honoured and proud" to stay at Liverpool. "I’ve loved every minute of it, even when I look back at the tough times, I was still enjoying being a part of this football club," he said in a statement. "The longer I can do that, the better for me really. I want to be here as long as possible, I’ve always said that."
The 31-year-old midfielder has scored 30 goals in 394 games for Liverpool since he moved from Sunderland in 2011.
He lifted the Premier League title, Champions League trophy, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup with the Reds.
