AMMAN, Jordan (AA) - Jordanian Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah on Monday arrived in Egypt's Al-Arish city to oversee the preparations for setting up a field hospital in Khan Younis city, southern Gaza.
In a statement, the Jordanian Royal Court said Al Hussein arrived at Al-Arish airport "on a Royal Jordanian Air Force military plane carrying the hospital staff and equipment."
It also said the field hospital will have "a capacity of 41 beds," and is "in line with continued support for the Palestinians and the provision of medical aid in Gaza."
The field hospital is planned to be set up in Khan Younis city within 48 hours and will be the first to enter Gaza since the start of the Israeli onslaught on Oct. 7.
Jordan established another field hospital in Gaza City in 2009 and it receives 1,000-1,200 people daily for free medical services.
However, services in the hospital have been disrupted by the Israeli airstrikes and ground offensive in Gaza.
Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 13,300 Palestinians have been killed, including over 9,100 women and children, and more than 30,000 others injured ever since, according to the latest figures.
The Israeli death toll, meanwhile, is around 1,200, according to official figures.
